Help with printing

You might find that when you print your results you are getting unwanted headers and footers on your print-outs, for example the web page address or the current time and date. Turning these off is quite straightforward but it depends on which browser you are using. Here is some help for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Internet Explorer, though I suspect the process is similar in Safari, Opera and so on.

Note: It is a good idea to note down the current settings before you change any of them so that you can put them back afterwards.

Chrome

From the "3 dots" action menu select Print to open print preview. Expand the More Settings panel and untick Headers & Footers.

Edge

From the "3 dots" action menu select Print to open print preview. Expand the More Settings panel and untick Headers & Footers.

Note: It is a good idea to note down the current settings so that you can put them back afterwards.

Firefox

From the File menu select Page Setup to open the page setup window. Select the Margins & Header/Footer tab, in the Headers & Footers section there are six drop down lists. Change these all to "--blank--" to have no headers or footers appear.

Internet Explorer

From the File menu (IE6 or below) or Print menu (IE7 onwards) select Page Setup to open the page setup window. In the Headers & Footers section there two boxes, one for header and footer. These contain codes which indicate what should be printed in the header or footer, e.g. "&w&bPage &p of &P" which seems to translate as the website title and the current page number. Anyway, if you clear these boxes then no headers or footers will appear.
